Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Neuro Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 7a-7p Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care medical/surgical experience License: KS or multistate license Certifications: AHA BLS required Must-Have: Experience in medical-surgical nursing Description: Registered Nurses provide safe, high-quality patient care through clinical expertise. Collaboration and teamwork are essential for success in this role. Critical thinking and active engagement in a culture of high reliability are expected. The unit cares for acute and subacute stroke patients, transient ischemic attacks, and medically unstable psychiatric illnesses. Patients may also present with suicidal ideations, alcohol detox needs, acute neurological illnesses, and general medical concerns. Staffing ratios are 1:6 on the unit. Visible tattoos are permitted, as long as they are not offensive or inappropriate for a professional setting. Piercings must not interfere with job duties and should maintain a professional appearance. Immunity documentation for Hep B, MMR, and Varicella is required. Documentation for TDaP vaccine, flu vaccine, and TB is also necessary.
