Job Description

is seeking a senior systems consultant with strong Microsoft 365 experience to join its platform engineering team. The consultant will help modernize and support the city's Microsoft 365 environment while serving as a technical advisor, consultant, trainer, and subject matter expert.

The primary focus will be on SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Exchange, Power Apps, and Microsoft Purview .

The ideal candidate is someone who can understand business and technical requirements, recommend practical Microsoft solutions, lead training sessions, and independently work with different teams across the organization.

• Serve as a senior technical expert for the city's Microsoft 365 environment.
• Provide consultation and guidance on SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, Power Apps, and Purview .
• Meet with business and technical teams to understand their workflows, challenges, and requirements.
• Recommend Microsoft-based solutions and explain their impact to stakeholders.
• Support modernization and adoption of Microsoft 365 capabilities.
• Develop and maintain SharePoint and Power Apps governance .
• Evaluate new Microsoft 365 features and recommend appropriate adoption strategies.
• Lead technical training sessions, workshops, and presentations for various audiences.
• Develop knowledge-transfer materials and contribute to a Microsoft 365 community of practice.
• Mentor junior team members and provide internal technical training.
• Support DevOps practices and contribute to team processes and documentation.
• Review and maintain PowerShell scripts and code within repositories.
• Collaborate with other City IT teams and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on M365 changes, feature updates, and new capabilities.
• Track assigned tasks independently and communicate progress, blockers, and potential issues.

• 7+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 applications and products.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • SharePoint
  • OneDrive
  • Microsoft Teams , including Teams Voice and Rooms
  • Exchange
• 5+ years of PowerShell scripting experience.
• Experience conducting PowerShell code reviews and working with code repositories.
• 3+ years of experience providing technical and business consultations to diverse groups.
• 3+ years of experience preparing and delivering training to technical and business users.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
• Ability to complete an FBI background check for CJIS clearance .
• Ability to complete required HIPAA compliance training .

• Experience with Microsoft GCC licensing .
• Experience with Power Apps .
• Experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Experience developing M365 governance and adoption strategies.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and leading knowledge-transfer initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a senior Microsoft 365 consultant, M365 architect, SharePoint architect, or similar professional with strong technical expertise combined with excellent consulting and training skills.

This position is best suited for someone who can go beyond day-to-day administration and advise stakeholders, design solutions, lead modernization initiatives, train users, and serve as a trusted M365 subject matter expert .
