Our client is continuing to expand its technology capabilities, investing in the architecture, infrastructure, and software systems behind its digital financial products, payment processing operations, and transaction-driven services. As the platform evolves, engineering is focused on building resilient systems, improving operational performance, and delivering scalable solutions within a modern cloud environment.

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to take ownership of critical backend systems and contribute to the continued evolution of the company’s technology platform. The role centers on Python engineering, with additional responsibilities spanning cloud architecture, data management, third-party integrations, and frontend development when needed.

This position is ideal for a seasoned software engineer who combines hands-on development expertise with a broader understanding of system architecture, platform scalability, and production operations. You will partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions, influence architectural decisions, and drive projects from initial design through deployment and ongoing optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and distributed applications that support financial technology products and transaction-intensive workflows.
\n
• Lead Python application development, establishing standards for code quality, modular design, testing, and long-term maintainability. Experience with Django is highly desirable.
\n
• Define technical approaches for new product capabilities and existing system improvements, ensuring solutions remain scalable, secure, and adaptable to future business needs.
\n
• Oversee the configuration and optimization of AWS infrastructure, with an emphasis on system availability, performance, security, resource utilization, and cost management.
\n
• Own the delivery of complex engineering initiatives, from technical planning and requirements analysis to implementation, release management, and production maintenance.
\n
• Develop and maintain integrations with payment gateways, financial institutions, banking systems, and external service providers.
\n
• Design efficient database schemas, data access patterns, and application workflows to support transactional accuracy, reliability, and increasing data volumes.
\n
• Work across the application stack, collaborating with frontend engineers and contributing to React and TypeScript implementations where appropriate.
\n
• Provide technical leadership during architecture reviews, code assessments, troubleshooting sessions, and investigations into production incidents.
\n
• Create shared libraries, development guidelines, and reusable engineering patterns that promote consistency and reduce duplicated effort.
\n
• Evaluate architectural alternatives and technology investments, weighing scalability, maintainability, implementation complexity, business impact, and total operating costs.

Required Qualifications

\n
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting complex, production-grade applications.
\n
• Extensive experience with Python, including the design and implementation of backend services, APIs, and scalable application architectures. Familiarity with Django is a plus.
\n
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, RESTful API design, service-oriented architectures, asynchronous processing, and relational database design.
\n
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and deploying or managing production workloads in AWS.
\n
• Working knowledge of contemporary frontend frameworks and languages, particularly React and TypeScript, with the ability to contribute to full-stack initiatives when required.
\n
• Experience making architecture and infrastructure decisions, resolving production issues, and improving the performance and resilience of business-critical systems.
\n
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with engineering teams, product stakeholders, and business leadership.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation

Base Salary: $280,000–$320,000
