Religious Ministries Musical Director – $50/hr – Yuma, AZ

Do you have experience leading music in a church or worship setting? Are you confident accompanying both Catholic Mass and Protestant services on keyboard or guitar?

The role

We are looking for a Religious Ministries Musical Director to support the Roman Catholic and Protestant music programs at the MCAS Yuma Station Chapel for a part-time, 1099 contract position.

You’ll work closely with chaplains, worship leaders, cantors, and other musicians to make sure each service is supported by thoughtful, appropriate, and well-prepared music.

Key Responsibilities

As our Religious Ministries Musical Director, you will:

• Plan music for Catholic and Protestant services
• Accompany choirs, singers, and congregations
• Lead congregational and choir music
• Support combined worship rehearsals
• Select music that complements each service
• Keep music supplies, resources, and files organized
• Provide weekly music selections for chapel bulletins
• Support selected special Masses throughout the year

The Benefits

• $50 per hour, depending on experience
• Approximately 3–4 hours per week
• Flexible part-time 1099 opportunity
• One-year initial contract with up to four optional years
• Piano, organ, electric piano, microphones, and rehearsal space provided

The person

You could be a great fit for this Religious Ministries Musical Director position if you:

• Have experience performing music within church or worship services
• Can accompany both Catholic Mass and Protestant services
• Play keyboard or guitar to a strong standard
• Are comfortable leading choirs and congregational singing
• Are a professing Christian in good standing and can provide pastoral references
• Can provide relevant professional or church music references
• Can pass the required security and background checks
• Have reliable transportation to MCAS Yuma
• Candidates may also be asked to complete a short 5–10 minute musical audition.
