We are looking for a skilled Furniture Repair Technician to repair, restore, and finish wood and upholstered furniture, ensuring damaged pieces are brought back to a high-quality finished condition.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience analyzing furniture damage, repairing wood surfaces, matching colors and finishes, and performing detailed restoration work. Experience with burn-in repairs and grain replacement is especially important for this position.

• Inspect and analyze furniture damage to determine the appropriate repair and finishing process.
• Repair dents, gouges, deep scratches, burn marks, broken corners, edges, and other furniture damage.
• Perform burn-in repairs using burn-in sticks and other appropriate repair materials.
• Perform grain replacement and grain matching to restore damaged wood surfaces.
• Fill damaged areas using appropriate fillers, including epoxy fillers.
• Remove scratches and restore damaged surfaces through sanding, compounds, and other finishing techniques.
• Match and replace colors to blend repaired areas with the original furniture finish.
• Adjust furniture sheen by raising or lowering the finish as needed.
• Restore dull finishes and blend repaired areas into the existing finish.
• Apply appropriate touch-up materials, including low-odor solvent-based coatings, aerosols, markers, and brushing materials.
• Replace damaged parts and repair wood furniture.
• Repair and restore upholstered furniture.
• Perform leather touch-up and upholstery repair when required.
• Use adhesives and other appropriate materials for furniture repair.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure repairs blend naturally with the original furniture.

• Hands-on experience in furniture repair, furniture finishing, restoration, or refinishing .
• Experience with burn-in repairs and burn-in sticks .
• Experience with grain replacement or grain matching .
• Strong understanding of furniture color matching principles, including primary and secondary colors, the effects of white and black on colors, and color intensity.
• Experience repairing dents, gouges, deep scratches, burn marks, broken corners, and edges.
• Experience using sandpaper, compounds, fillers, epoxy fillers, and adhesives.
• Knowledge of furniture touch-up coatings, aerosols, markers, and proper brushing techniques.
• Ability to repair and/or replace parts on wood furniture.
• Experience with upholstered furniture repair is required.
• Leather touch-up and upholstery repair experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality finished repairs.
• Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and move furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Comfortable with regular walking, bending, twisting, climbing, carrying, pushing, pulling, crouching, and kneeling.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Must be available to work one weekend day per week .
